HEALTH COACHING FAQs

What is health coaching?

Health coaching is a collaborative process that helps you build sustainable habits to improve your overall well-being. A health coach supports you in clarifying goals, overcoming obstacles, and creating realistic action steps related to areas such as stress, nutrition, movement, sleep, and a balanced lifestyle.

Health information is everywhere, but knowing where to start and what actually matters for your unique situation? That's the challenge. A health coach helps you cut through the noise, identify your true priorities, and create a personalized action plan that fits your life.

How is it different from therapy, nutrition counseling, or personal training?

HC does not diagnose, treat, or provide medical or mental care. Instead, it focuses on behavior change, motivation, and forward-looking goals. Coaches often work alongside healthcare providers to support lifestyle changes recommended by your doctor.

Who is health coaching for?

Health coaching is for anyone who wants to improve their health, feel more energized, reduce stress, or create healthier routines - but may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to start.

What can I expect in a typical health coaching session?

Sessions are conversational and personalized. You’ll discuss goals, current challenges, progress since your last session, and next steps. Your coach will ask thoughtful questions, help you explore options, and support you in choosing actions that feel realistic and meaningful.

How often are sessions held, how long are each session, and are they in-person or virtual?

Sessions are typically 50 minutes long and can be in-person or virtual.

What if I lose motivation or get stuck?

Feeling stuck is a normal part of change. A coach will help you explore what’s getting in the way, adjust your approach, and reconnect with your motivation - without judgement.

What happens after coaching ends?

You’ll leave with tools, strategies, and a greater sense of self-awareness to maintain your progress independently. Sometimes clients choose to return for refresher sessions or ongoing support as needed.
